The Rivers State Internal Revenue Service (abbreviated RIRS) was formed in 1993 under the Board of Internal Revenue Law 1993 (No. 3). It is a government agency entrusted to assess, collect and account for all taxes, fees and levies in Rivers State, Nigeria. It is involved in the formulation of tax policy as well as the supervision of revenue collection due to the state.[1] Its headquarters are at 22 William Jumbo Street in Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

In February 2013, the board netted about ₦9.5 billion internally generated revenue with Skye Bank plc as tax partners. A new board was set up in February 2017 with the mandate to increase the revenue base of the state.[2]
