Ritesh Pandey
Ritesh Pandey is an Indian politician belonging to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) from the state of Uttar Pradesh.[1] He is currently a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Jalalpur constituency in Ambedkar Nagar, which he represents since 2017.[2]
Personal life
Ritesh Pandey is the son of Rakesh Pandey, former Member of Parliament from Ambedkar Nagar.[3] Pandey did his schooling from Welham Boys' School, India and subsequently from Canada. He has a degree in International Business Management from European Business School. He also lived in Spain for a year, where he studied Spanish.
Politics
Pandey unsuccessfully contested the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections of 2012, losing out to Sher Bahadur Singh from the Samajwadi Party.[4] In the assembly elections of 2017, he was elected as an MLA from the Jalalpur constituency, with a victory margin of 90303 votes.[1]
Social work
RItesh Pandey is the chairman of the Raghuraji Devi Foundation Trust that works on reforming education and on promoting cultural events for youth. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Awadh Mutineers, a grassroots sports initiative that trains and supports underprivileged children for playing football.[5]
