Riffle (anonymity network)
Riffle[1] is an anonymity network developed at MIT as a response to the problems of the Tor browser. Riffle employs a verifiable shuffle and is said to be ten times faster than onion-based networks which includes Tor. The Tor software is free and dominates anonymity network software use.
According to the Larry Hardesty article[2] researchers at MIT and the Qatar Computing Research Institute have demonstrated a vulnerability in Tor’s design. The same paper also proposes defenses, which representatives of the Tor project say they are evaluating for possible inclusion in future versions of the Tor software.
