Ricky Echolette, real name Wolfgang Neuhaus, was born on August 6, 1958[1] in Cologne, Germany. He is a former member of the German synth-pop Alphaville and was a keyboardist.[2] He also played the electric guitar and the piano in Alphaville.
In 1984 he replaced Frank Mertens, who had just left Alphaville, after the release of their first album Forever Young. Alphaville lead singer Marian Gold had already asked Echolette to join the group two years earlier, but the Echolette declined the offer.
He left Alphaville in 1997 and now lives in the South of France and composes film scores.
