Richard Winfred Anane (born March 12, 1954)[1] is a physician and former Ghanaian politician who served as Minister for Roads and Highways, Minister for Health, and Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso serving from 1997 to 2017.[2] Anane was a member of the New Patriotic Party.
Career
Richard Winfred Anane served in multiple cabinet-level positions under John Agyekun Kufuor, being Minister for Health and Minister for Roads and Highways[3] respectively from 2001 to 2006.[4]
Anane received an MB CHB from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Kumasi, in 1983, Dr. Anane was the doctor of Hebron Clinic, Bantama before he became an MP in 1997. Dr. Anane, a Roman Catholic, is married with four children.[1] He obtained 36,067 votes out of the 47, 535 valid votes cast, representing 75.9% of the total votes cast in the 2012 election, exemplifying his popularity in his constituency.[5]
