Richard Standing

Richard Standing is a British actor born in the West Riding of Yorkshire, in 1967 who has appeared on the TV series Holby City, Coronation Street, and The Grand. He played the part of Danny Hargreaves in Coronation Street from 1999-2001. He also was in Doctors.

He studied drama at Hull University and has performed extensively with the theatre company Northern Broadsides.

Career

In 2000 he appeared in Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes as Gary Barlow.

He has appeared in Holby City twice playing two different characters in 2003 & 2009.

In 2007 he starred in The Bill as criminal Paul Warren. Also that year he starred in The film And When Did You Last See Your Father? as a bartender.

In 2008 he appeared in an episode of Grange Hill playing PC McGuffin.

In 2009 he starred alongside Lenny Henry in theatre the Shakespeare play Othello in Trafalgar Studios in London.

In 2010, Standing married Sara Poyzer, a West end Actress who had been in Othello with Standing as well as stage performances including Billy Elliot and The Merchant of Venice.

He performed in multiple episodes of "Doctors".[1]

He played the male lead, Sam, in the Mamma Mia! tour, alongside wife Sara Poyzer who is playing Sam's love interest, Donna.

Standing is currently playing MacBeth in the play MacBeth in York.
