Richard Abruzzo (May 19, 1963[1] – c. September 29, 2010) was an American balloonist.

His father was Ben Abruzzo[2] and was from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He and Carol Rymer Davis won the 2004 Gordon Bennett Cup.[3] He was awarded the Harmon Trophy in 2001, 2003 and 2005.

He and Rymer Davis were lost at sea on September 29, 2010 while competing in the 54th Gordon Bennett Cup.[4][5][6] Their bodies were found off the coast of Italy in the Adriatic Sea on December 6, 2010.[7]
