AllMusic[1]

The album received positive reviews. All Music claimed "A retro/psychedelic vibe permeates the album, clearly evident on such highlights as "American Pie" and the long and winding epic "Heaven it Cries." But Slaughter didn't completely turn its back on its previous direction, as evidenced by such tracks as the ballad "Can We Find a Way," and the rocking title track."[1]
