Rel is an American sitcom television series created by and starring Lil Rel Howery that debuted September 9, 2018 on Fox.[1] The series also stars Jordan L. Jones, Jessica 'Jess Hilarious' Moore and Sinbad. It follows a man trying to rebuild his life after his ex-wife slept with his barber.

Plot summary

The series centers on Rel, a proud, self-made success who lives by the code to "always believe in yourself and great things will come", finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life and post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the West Side of Chicago on a quest for love, respect, and a new barber. It is inspired by Howery's life.

The website's critical consensus reads, "Rel has a talented star supported by a solid ensemble, but none of it's enough to disguise an ordinary sitcom that hits a series of generic beats."[10] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 46 out of 100 based on 6 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".[11]
