Re-Logic is an independent game developer and publisher based in Indiana. It was founded by Andrew Spinks in 2011.[1] The company is best known for developing and publishing Terraria, a 2D action-adventure sandbox video game.

History

Re-Logic was founded at the beginning of Terraria's development cycle, starting in January 2011.[2] The game was released for Microsoft Windows on May 16, 2011[3] and received multiple updates later on. In February 2012, Re-Logic's developers announced that Terraria would be receiving one final bug-fix patch,[4] but development resumed in 2013.[5] The game is still being updated as of February 2018. Terraria has also seen multiple console releases, which include the PlayStation 3 on March 26, 2013,[6] Xbox 360 on March 27, 2013,[6] the PlayStation Vita on December 11, 2013,[7] the PlayStation 4 on November 11, 2014,[8] the Xbox One on November 14, 2014,[9] the Nintendo 3DS on December 10, 2015,[10] and the Wii U in June 2016.[11] The game was also released for iOS on August 29, 2013,[12] for Android on September 13, 2013,[13] and for Windows Phone on September 12, 2014.[14] The company later published Pixel Piracy, a side-scrolling real-time strategy video game, for Windows, macOS, and Linux on December 1, 2013,[15] for the PlayStation 4 on February 16, 2016,[16] and for the Xbox One on February 16, 2016.[17] On February 21, 2017 Re-Logic published Pixel Privateers, a turn-based strategy video game for Windows.[18] In February 2015, Re-Logic began development of Terraria: Otherworld, a game set in the same universe as Terraria. The game was announced in a teaser trailer on February 16, 2015,[19] however, on April 13, 2018, the game was cancelled due it being far behind schedule and far from the vision Re-Logic had for it.[20]
