Raymond Daniel Goolsby (September 5, 1919 – November 13, 1999) was a Major League Baseball player. Nicknamed "Ox", he played in three games for the Washington Senators in 1946. He had four at bats without a hit, with one walk and one sacrifice hit.
He was born in Florala, Alabama and moved to Central Florida in 1925 while still a child. He served in the Navy during World War II. After baseball he worked in the citrus industry, rising to manager. He died in Apopka, Florida. His wife was Lucy R. Goolsby (October 4, 1917 – October 20, 2015) whom he married November 1, 1940 in Apopka. He and his wife are buried in Highland Memory Gardens, which is within the city limits of Forest City, but has an Apopka mailing address because Forest City is also the eastern section of zipcode 32703, which covers the southern half of Apopka as well as Forest City.[1]
