Ramsey Bethann Carpenter-Bearse (born December 1991) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Hartford, Kentucky who was named Miss Kentucky 2014 on July 12, 2014. She competed for the title of Miss America 2015,[1][2] where she won the preliminary talent competition[2] and placed in the Top 12 as a semi-finalist. Her platform issue is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness.[3]

Education and music

Carpenter is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education/Learning Behavior Disorder.[3] An accomplished Bluegrass fiddle player,[1] Carpenter is a veteran of musical competitions at numerous festivals and other venues while in high school and college.[1] Known as "the girl with the green fiddle", she began playing the instrument at age 15.[1][2]

Spokesperson for National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2010, Carpenter has served as a spokeswoman for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.[4]

Future goals

After her reign as Miss Kentucky 2014 is complete, she plans to teach in the Kentucky school system, and perhaps pursue a Master's Degree in Education.[2]
