Rampant is an upcoming 2018 South Korean historical action zombie film directed by Kim Sung-hoon. It will be released on October 25, 2018.[3][4]

Plot

The action story of a hero named Yi Chung (Hyun Bin) who fights against “Night Demons” to save the Joseon nation. Yi Chung is the son of the king, and the greatest martial artist in the world. Although he is given to the Qing Empire as a political hostage, he returns home when his brother, the Crown Prince Yi Young (Kim Tae-woo), calls him back after many years. And it’s because of the nightmarish monsters plaguing the country that Yi Chung is tasked to destroy. Prince Yi Chung (Hyun Bin) will be fighting the nightmarish monsters alongside Kim Ja-joon (Jang Dong-gun) and Deok-hee (Lee Sun-bin)

Principal photography began on September 1, 2017.[11]

The film is financed and distributed by Next Entertainment World, who was the primary backer of films such as Pandora and Train to Busan. It is directed by Kim Sung-hoon, who has worked with Hyun Bin in the hit film Confidential Assignment.[12] On November 14, 2017, it was announced by distributor Next Entertainment World that actor Kim Tae-woo will fill the role of Crown Prince Lee Young, originally scheduled to be played by the late Kim Joo-hyuk.[13][14]

The filming of this movie completed on February 13, 2018 which took about five months in total.[15]

Release

The film is set to released domestically on October 25, 2018.[3]

The film had already lined up theatrical releases in 19 countries. Release date for Philippines, Germany, UK, Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia is set within 2 weeks after domestic release date.[16]
