Rainbow S.p.A. (formerly known as Rainbow S.r.l) is an Italian animation studio based in Loreto, Marche that is best known for producing the animated Huntik and Winx Club series. They have also produced several animated films, such as Gladiators of Rome. The CEO of Rainbow S.p.A. is Iginio Straffi, who is also the creator of Huntik and Winx Club.[1]

Since February 2011, Rainbow has been co-owned by Viacom International Media Networks Italia and Straffi, after the latter purchased a 30% stake in the company.[1][2]

On October 5, 2015, Rainbow S.p.A. acquired Canadian animation studio, Bardel Entertainment.[3]

On July 21, 2017, Rainbow acquired a majority stake in Iven S.p.A., which owns film and television production company Colorado Film, artistic management and talent management company Moviement, recording company San Isidro Edizioni Musicali and a participation in production and distribution company Gavila srl. The group was founded in 1986 by the agent and producer Maurizio Totti, by the Oscar-awarded director Gabriele Salvatores and by the actors Diego Abatantuono and Paolo Rossi.
