Rahul Kohli (born 13 November 1985) is an English actor. He is best known for playing Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti in the television series iZombie, and also for his appearances on the YouTube channel Funhaus.

Early life

Rahul Kohli was born in London, England to Hindu immigrant parents of Indian heritage.[1] His mother was born and raised in Thailand and his father is from Kenya.[2] He began acting as a young boy in school plays. At age 17, he decided to pursue acting as a career, going on to study media studies at Uxbridge College, and later attending drama school where he trained in stage performing.

Kohli was part of several stage productions during his time in drama school and was acting in Royal National Theatre, including Henry V and Sabato, domenica e lunedì.

Kohli is colourblind.[3][4]

Career

After completing school, Kohli found an agent and began working in television, making appearances in established series EastEnders and Holby City, as well as advertisements for major brands, such as Sony and Heineken. Although no longer his focus, he continued to work on the stage as well, including a period of time at the Royal National Theatre working with acclaimed director Howard Davies.

Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, he was cast in a lead role in the television series iZombie as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti.

Personal life

Kohli is a fan of Liverpool Football Club. He is also very interactive on twitter.[5] He is also an avid gamer, and since 2015 has featured in several Rooster Teeth videos for Funhaus, Kinda Funny and Achievement Hunter.[6]

In July 2018, Kohli and his longtime girlfriend Yasmin Malloy announced their engagement via Twitter.[7]
