Quest Broadcasting Inc. is a Philippine radio broadcast network, with offices and broadcast headquarters located in Metro Manila. It operates under the Magic Nationwide brand, which is composed of its flagship radio station Magic 89.9 in Metro Manila and throughout the Visayas and Mindanao area.

Quest Broadcasting is majority-owned by The Vera Group.

History

The company was first established in 1986 as the SBS Radio Network Inc. (SBS being Sarao Broadcasting Systems) where it had the Las Piñas-based Sarao family, well known for its manufacture of Jeepneys, and the Vera family (original owners of FBS Radio Network) as venture partners.

In 1992, Luis and Leonida Vera's eldest son, Atty. Jose Luis Vera ("Bobet"), took full control of the network and renamed the SBS Radio Network as Quest Broadcasting Incorporated.[1][2]

Magic is Quest Broadcasting's national network of FM stations. It is also the flagship brand of Tiger 22 Media, a media management and marketing agency.

DWTM, Magic's flagship station, began regular operations on February 14, 1986, broadcasting from the now-demolished Philippine Communications Center building (PHILCOMCEN) in Pasig City, starting with a 10 on-air crew led by Bernie Buenaseda, known on-air as "Burning Bernie". It became a witness to history unfolding before the Filipinos as the station was also started 11 days before the late Corazon "Cory" Aquino became president and 7 months exactly before ABS-CBN was reopened.[2]

In 1992, Quest opened new stations in key cities in Visayas and Mindanao, which led to the launch of Killerbee in late 90s.[2]

In April 29, 2013, Killerbee stations underwent nationwide rebranding, as they were relaunched under the Magic brand (adopted from its parent station), except in Butuan which it retains the Killerbee brand. The Dumaguete station continues to operate as a Magic affiliate, although it reverted its brand name to SR95 in early 2014.

In 2016, Magic opened its new affiliate station in Tagbilaran, Bohol. In September 2018, Magic 92.7 was rebranded as Bee 92.7.
