Quercus scytophylla is a Mexican species of trees in the beech family. It is native to western and central Mexico from Sonora and Chihuahua to Chiapas.[2][3][4]

Quercus scytophylla is a deciduous tree up to 20 meters tall with a trunk as much as 50 cm in diameter. Leaves are thick and leathery, up to 20 cm long, with a few tapering, pointed teeth along the edges.[2]
