Quazi Salimul Haq Kamal is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from Magura District.[1]
Career
Kamal was elected in parliament from Magura in the controversial 1994 by elections. In 2001 he was elected to Parliament again from Magura as a candidate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He was made President of Magura District unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.[2] On 10 August 2016 he resigned from the executive committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Party over the inclusion of Netai Roy Chowdhury in the committee.[3] He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case on 8 February 2018.[4] Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was also sentenced to five years in jail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.[5]
