Qorako‘l also spelled as Karakul (Uzbek: Qorako‘l/Қоракўл, قارەكول; Russian: Каракуль) is a town in the Bukhara Region of Uzbekistan. It is the capital of Qorako‘l District (Qorako‘l tumani). "Qoraqo'l" means "black lake" in Uzbek language.The town population in 1989 year was 16 650 people.[1]
