Archduchess Theresa of Austria,[1][2] German: Theresa Monika Valerie Elisabeth Ludovika Walburga Anna, Erzherzogin von Österreich[1][2] (born 9 January 1931 at Schloss Wallsee in Amstetten, Lower Austria, Federal State of Austria[1][2]) is a member of the Tuscan branch of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine and an Archduchess of Austria and Princess of Bohemia, Hungary, and Tuscany by birth. Through her marriage to Prince Rasso of Bavaria, Theresa is also a member of the House of Wittelsbach and a Princess of Bavaria.

Early life

Theresa was the second child and eldest daughter of Archduke Theodor Salvator of Austria and his wife Countess Maria Theresia von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg.[1][2]

Marriage and issue

Theresa married Prince Rasso of Bavaria (24 May 1926 in Leutstetten — 12 September 2011), second son and youngest child of Prince Franz of Bavaria and wife Princess Isabella Antonie of Croÿ, on 17 October 1955 at Schloss Wallsee near Amstetten.[1][2] Theresa and Rasso had seven children:[1]

  • Princess Maria-Theresia of Bavaria (born 10 September 1956 in Leutstetten), married on 23 July 1977 in Andechs, Count Tamás Kornis von Göncz-Ruszka (born 4 October 1949 in Budapest), son of Count Boldizsár Kornis von Göncz-Ruszka and Márta Dénes. They have seven children:
    • Countess Marie Bernadette Kornis von Göncz-Ruszka (born 25 May 1978 in Aichach), married on 6 September 2003 in Veszprém, Klaus Fischer-Stabauer (born 3 September 1979 in Düsseldorf), son of Henner Fischer-Stabauer and Ute Brands. They have seven children:
