Pretty Addicted is a British electronic music group formed in London in 2011. The project is primarily the brainchild of Vicious Precious with a live band and a live drummer.

History

The band was started in late 2011 by Couscous Precious and Ben Main after the pair met at a club and discussed the prospect of Ben remixing one of Vicious's old band's songs,[1] before talk shifted to starting a new project together.[2] After performing around the UK, the band released their debut album, Filth, in June 2013, through DWA. Problems between the two members led to the departure of Ben some time in 2013, leaving Viscious the sole studio member of the band. They recruited "Dammit Dan" Heard and Sakura Dahmer to flesh out the live lineup in late 2013 as the band continued touring the UK and Europe throughout 2014 and 2015. They released their second album, It All Stems From Childhood independently in 2014 through an Indiegogo campaign. Harry Sutherland joined the bass doing live bass.

The trio continued their live shows and then in early 2016 Visous returned to the studio to write their third album. On 14 February they released a cover of the Little Mermaid song "Poor Unfortunate Souls" as a single, followed by the release of Choose Your Poisson after a successful crowdfunding campaign for their album Holding Hands With The Shadow Flan which was released in August that same year.

The single from their fourth album Fantasy Land was released in Oct 2017 and the album The Magic Of A Lunatic followed in Nov 2017 after a third very successful Indiegogo campaign.

Musical style and image

The band has been described as a mix of electronic music, electropunk and trance, although the band principally describe themselves as "dance punk". They are influenced from a wide range of acts, with Vicious describing their main influences as Marilyn Manson and The Prodigy.[3] The band are known for intense live shows with controversial themes prevalent in their music and performances and describe themselves as "gender-bending".[4] Vicious doesn't identify with any particular political group and this often reflects in the stage shows. Themes of style have always been character based and quirky; Couscous often seen in a Gordon Brown mask and corduroys.
