Preston Michael Corbell was born in Dallas, Texas and is an American actor, filmmaker, writer.[1] His most notable role is the voice of the robot Casey on the children's themed web series The Casey Files released in May 2017 on Amazon Prime Video.[2]

Film career

Beginning his film career in Wilmington, North Carolina, he worked as a stand-in and photo double for Chad Michael Murray as well as the role of a recurring student on the CW's One Tree Hill. His most notable role was scientist John Casey in the popular sci-fi web series IQ-145[3] alongside Thomas Dekker, Paul Johansson, and Lindsey McKeon. Other notable works include Surface, Cabin Fever 2[4] IQ-145, The Marc Pease Experience and One Tree Hill as well as working on Eastbound and Down. While working on Surface Preston was featured in multiple episodes as well as working behind the scenes. He was originally cast as the bunny mascot in Cabin Fever 2 later to be recast as Prom Goer. In 2009 Preston played the role of Winged Monkey in The Marc Pease Experience alongside of Ben Stiller, Jason Schwartzman and Anna Kendrick. Later on in 2009 Preston worked on the pilot of Eastbound and Down as a stand-in and photo double for Danny McBride.

Independent Filmmaking

In 2013 he started his own film production company Demented Gnome Productions based out of Austin, Texas which released its first film, Nitrous in 2014 and a powerful emotionally driven film entitled The Name I Know in 2015. Corbell described the film as "Heavy subject matter that ventures into areas that are not normally explored in traditional film"[5] In Winter 2013 he shot a film at the historic Pfluger House in Austin, Texas.[6] Corbell said the location was perfect for the film. "I hate to say that the house is good for a horror movie; it sounds bad,"[7] Preston's next project was The Rumpelstiltskin Killer,[8] it will be released in 2016. Preston was featured in an article for Austin Fusion Magazine[9] in October 2015. The article went into how his life as a filmmaker has evolved and where he is today. He talked openly about his interest and continued pursuit to gain traction in the indie horror community. A community Corbell finds particularly intriguing because of its large and loyal fan base. In March 2016 Corbell released his debut feature film as a filmmaker entitled "Ellsworth". A horror/thriller set in the New York City subway system. The film received high praise from the independent horror community[10] for its artistic value. Corbell is the sole actor and carries the film throughout emotional highs and lows. Corbell's latest project The Casey Files which was released on Amazon Prime Video [11] in May 2017. The web-series follows a life like robot who works on investigations. The series is currently filming in Austin, Texas and has multiple seasons available on Amazon Prime Video. Corbell voices the main character Casey and other characters on the show as well as serving as the director of The Casey Files.

Personal life

Corbell has a Master's degree in counseling from Wayland Baptist University and is currently pursuing a PhD. in clinical psychology. He received his undergrad at Texas Tech University. He sometimes makes appearances at Comic Cons [12] where he talks about past and future projects. In 2011 Corbell started an inspirational clothing line designed around the concept of embracing life's battles.
