Prestbury railway station is an unstaffed station which serves the village of Prestbury, Cheshire, England. It was opened on 24 November 1845 by the London & North Western Railway.[1]

Facilities

There is a car park and ticket machine at the station. The southbound platform is only accessible via footbridge. [2]

Service pattern

From 14 December 2008 trains operate on an hourly pattern, terminating at Stoke-on-Trent (southbound) or Manchester Piccadilly (northbound).[3] Some early morning/late night services originate/terminate at Macclesfield. A number of services previously operated through to/from Deansgate.

Trains towards Stoke-on-Trent generally depart Prestbury at xx14 (Monday to Saturday) with an additional evening peak service at 17:47 to Macclesfield only.

Trains towards Manchester Piccadilly depart Prestbury at xx22 Mondays to Saturdays, however services before 08:00 are significantly different (Monday to Friday) with departures at 06:21, 06:56, 07:24 and 07:53.

Northbound services towards Manchester Piccadilly generally call at Heaton Chapel, whereas most southbound services do not.

There are five services in each direction on Sundays.
