Pradeep Maharathy (Odia: ପ୍ରଦୀପ ମହାରଥି, born 4 July 1955) is an Indian Politician from Biju Janata Dal (BJD).[1][2] He is currently MLA[3] from Pipili Constituency[4] of Odisha.

Personal Background

Pradeep Maharathy is the son of Late Gokulananda Maharathy, born in Pipili, Khorapada, Puri. He is married to Prativa Maharathy. The couple have a son named Rudra Pratap Maharathy and a daughter Pallavi Maharathy. Rudra has completed his B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering and Pallavi is a Doctor and currently doing her specialization in Pediatrics.

Political career

He started his political career as a student leader in SCS college, Puri. For the first time in 1985 he was elected as the MLA from Pipili Constituency, Odisha. He was then a member of Janata Party. He has been elected as a legislature for six times.[5]
