PowerCity

Power City is an Irish electrical retailer of consumer and electronic goods owned by the Bray-based McKenna family, with branches in Blanchardstown, Coolock, Tallaght, Finglas, Fonthill, Sallynoggin, Drogheda, Bray , Naas , Carrickmines[1] and in the Airside Retail Park, Swords.[2]

PowerCity sells a wide range of electrical goods and accessories at discount prices. They were satirised on Bull Island for their red and white striped shirts and red v-neck jumpers worn by employees. According to the Irish Times Top 1000 Companies, in 2017 the company made a profit of 5.3 million on a turnover of €85.4 million with a staff of 250[3] compared to €8.4 million profit on a turnover of €87 million in 2003[4] with a staff of 180.
