Portman Dentalcare

Portman Dentalcare is a chain of dental practices based in Cheltenham established by Sam Waley-Cohen in 2009.

By March 2011 the business had grown to eight dental practices employing 170 staff[1] and by 2013 it has grown to 15 dental practices.[2] In 2018 it had about 60 practices across the UK.[3]

In 2018 it was reported that female staff in the business were only paid 40% of the rates of male staff - the biggest pay gap in the sector.[4]

The firm was bought by Core Equity Holdings in July 2018. It was valued at more than £300 million.[5]
