Poonam Azad is wife of a former Indian cricketer and politician Kirti Azad.

Poonam joined Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Sunday November 13, 2016 after months of speculation.[1] She had contested against then Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the 2003 assembly polls and was serving as a spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Delhi unit before joining AAP.Now she has joined Indian National Congress

Personal life

Poonam is married to former cricketer Kirti Azad and has two sons.[2] Her elder son Suryavardhan has played for Delhi Under-17s, Under-19s and Under-22s, while her younger son Somyavardhan has played for Delhi Under-15s and Delhi Under-17s.[3][4]
