Piret Raud

Piret Raud (born July 15, 1971) is a contemporary Estonian children’s author and illustrator.[1]

Raud graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in graphic art, and initially set off on the same path. After trying her hand at writing, Raud has since become the most renowned and widely translated children’s author in Estonia. She has written 17 titles, has been translated into 12 different languages, and has illustrated more than 40 titles.[2]

Personal

Piret Raud is the daughter of Estonian children's authors Eno Raud and Aino Pervik. Her brothers are scholar and author Rein Raud and musician and journalist Mihkel Raud.
