Pierre-Olivier Joseph (born July 1, 1999) is a Canadian junior ice hockey player who currently serves as alternate captain of the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted 23rd overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.[1]

Playing career

Joseph was drafted 78th overall in the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Charlottetown Islanders.[2]

Joseph was named an alternate captain for the Islanders 2016–17 season. At the end of the season he was named the Islanders finalist for the Marcel Robert Trophy.[3] The following season he was named captain of the Islanders.[4]

Joseph was drafted 23rd overall at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes. On December 4, 2017, Joseph signed a three-year entry level contract with the Coyotes.[5]

Personal life

Joseph was born in Laval, Quebec, but grew up in Chambly, Quebec.[6] His brother Mathieu was drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
