Physical Review Applied is a peer-reviewed, scientific journal, published by the American Physical Society (APS). The Editor of Phys. Rev. Applied is Stephen R. Forrest and it published 430 papers in 2017 on the subject of applied physics.[1] It is part of the Physical Review family of journals.[2]
The journal aims to publish articles, letters and reviews at the intersection of physics and engineering, which are often multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary. The papers are published online as and when they are accepted and become available. APS intends to expand its core group of journals with more interdisciplinary journals such as this one, along with the highly selective Physical Review X. As of 2016, the journal is indexed by Thomson Reuters and crossref.
As per the journal's webpage, Physical Review Applied accepts submissions in the following areas:
- Biophysics, bioengineering, and biomedical materials
- Device physics
- Energy technology, includingg renewable energy, storage, and power generation
- High-pressure physics and geophysics
- Industrial physics
- Magnetism and spintronics
- Materials science, including alloys, composites, glasses, and polymers
