Peter Moore (born 1 January 1996) is a trombonist from Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, who was the winner of BBC Young Musician of the Year in May 2008, when he was only twelve years old.[1] On 29 May 2014, it was announced that the London Symphony Orchestra had appointed Moore its co-principal trombonist.[2]
Moore, who was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is the youngest winner of the competition to date, which is open to young persons aged eighteen and under.[3] He studied at the Chethams School of Music, in Manchester, leaving in 2015. Peter is currently represented by the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT).
