Peter Lash

Peter Waller Lash, Jr. (born August 11, 1959 in Anchorage, Alaska) is an American former handball player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and in the 1988 Summer Olympics.[1] Peter now lives in Charlotte North Carolina with his wife and 4 kids.

Pete Lash attended the US Military Academy at West Point, where he started out as a baseball player. Lash switched to handball his freshman year, and eventually graduated in 1981 with a degree in engineering. He later obtained an MBA from the University of Virginia. Lash competed in handball (team) at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. He retired from the sport after the 1984 Los Angeles Games, but came back to make the 1987 Pan American team, where he won a gold medal. He was US team handball athlete of the year in 1984 and 1987.

In 1989 Lash founded Beacon Properties, along with Ed Weisiger, Jr., which is a commercial real estate investment firm in the Charlotte area. Lash is a past-president of the Charlotte Chapter of the NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties). He has also been a board member for NAIOP.
