Fictional character biography

Peter Gambi is a former mob hitman who killed different people including Alvin Pierce. After repenting and reforming while also becoming a tailor like his brother Paul Gambi, Peter established a tailor shop that was below Jefferson Pierce's apartment where he befriended him and his mother.[1] When a student named Earl Clifford is killed by 100 member Joey Toledo on Tobias Whale's orders to make an example to Jefferson Pierce for speaking out towards the 100's criminal activities, Jefferson approached Peter about a way he can avenge Earl's death. Gambi creates for him a suit, mask, and wig that enables him to become Black Lightning.[2]

Syonide went after Peter Gambi and interrogated him on the identity of Black Lightning.[3]

Tobias Whale has Syonide capture Black Lightning and Peter Gambi. Jefferson also learned that Gambi was the one who killed Alvin Pierce as he begs for Black Lightning's forgiveness.[4] Tobias Whale plans to have Black Lightning and Peter Gambi executed. After Syonide rigs his gun in order to kill himself as well, Peter Gambi sacrifices his life to protect Black Lightning. Seeing Gambi's sacrifice as an act of penance, Black Lightning forgives his fallen ally.[1]
