Persististrombus latus, commonly known as the Bubonian Conch, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Strombidae, the true conchs.[1]
Description
The shell size varies between 70 mm and 165 mm.
Distribution
The Bubonian Conch is distributed in the Atlantic Ocean along West Africa, Senegal, Gabon, Cape Verde, Ascension Island and Angola.

The species was depicted on a $3 Angolan escudo coin from 1974 until the nation's independence, on the bottom read Strombus latus.
In Capeverdean cuisine, the gastropod Bubonian Conch (Persististrombus latus) is best known in the nation under the popular name of "Búzio cabra" (ALUPEK: 'Buziu kabra). It is very popular and appreciates for its close relationship to a certain Greek deity. The preparation is delace, it is eaten, most often as a fricassé or grilled in a skewer.
