Peripentadenia is a genus of two species known to science, of large trees found only (endemic) in the rainforests of north-eastern Queensland, Australia and constituting part of the plant family Elaeocarpaceae.[2][3][4][5][6] Sometimes they have the common name quandong.[4][7]

Botanists have formally described two species, both found only (endemic) in restricted areas of the Wet Tropics rainforests of north eastern Queensland.[2][3][4][7][8]

Both species have official recognition of at risk of extinction in the wild.[9]

Species

Synonym and base name: Actephila mearsii C.T.White
Queensland government official "near threatened" species conservation status.[9]:73
  • Peripentadenia phelpsii B.Hyland & Coode[5] – very restricted endemic in the rainforests of the Mossman area of the Wet Tropics[4][8]
Queensland government official "vulnerable" species conservation status.[9]:54
