Peppersmith is a UK-based confectionery company specialising in xylitol based chewing gum, mints and sweet products.
The company itself is independent, based in London and was founded in 2009 by Mike Stevens and Dan Shrimpton, both former employees of Innocent drinks.[1]
Products
Peppersmith chewing gum is made with 100% xylitol and contains no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives and no aspartame. Peppersmith gum is accredited by the British Dental Health Foundation for being actively good for teeth.[2]
Peppersmith gum is available in Peppermint and Spearmint varieties.[3]
In March 2011 Peppersmith launched a new range of mint products. Like the gum the Fresh Mints are made from real English mint are sugar free, contain no artificial flavours, colours, preservatives or aspartame and are also accredited by the British Dental Health Foundation.[4]
In 2014 Peppersmith disappointed many customers by switching from a natural chicle gum base to an industry-standard polymer gum base.[5]
The three Fresh Mints flavours available are 'Fine English Peppermint', 'Sicilian Lemon and Fine English Peppermint' and 'Eucalyptus and Fine English Peppermint'.[6]
Awards
In 2012 Peppersmith was named in the Startups 100 awards as one of the UK's most innovative, inspiring and ground-breaking new companies.[7]
