Paul Reclus (anarchist)

Paul Reclus

Paul Reclus was a French anarchist who was born May 25, 1858, and who died January 19, 1941.[1] He was part of a family of famous anarchists including Elisee Reclus.

He fled Paris to Switzerland after the crushing of the Paris Commune.[2] He spent a period of time in Edinburgh.[3]

His son was Jacques Reclus.[4]

In 1916 he was a signer of the controversial Manifesto of the Sixteen, signed also by Peter Kropotkin, which advocated support for the Allied forces in World War 1.[5][6]
