Pat Courtney Gold
Pat Courtney Gold (b. 1939[1]) is a Wasco Native basket weaver from the Columbia River area of Oregon. She is a 2007 NEA National Heritage Fellow[2]. She graduated with a BA in mathematics and physics from Whitman College and worked as a mathematician-computer specialist[3] before beginning her career in basket weaving.
Her artwork is on exhibit in museums around the world including the High Desert Museum[4], Royal British Columbia Museum, Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University[5], and Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian[6].[1]
She was featured in an episode of PBS Craft in America in 2009[7].
