Park Hill High School is one of two high schools in the Park Hill School District in Kansas City, Missouri. The current principal is Dr. Brad Kincheloe. The original school building opened in 1952, and the current building in 1967. Park Hill's teams are called the Trojans, and its colors are red and white. Park Hill High School can hold 2000 students. [1]

Facilities

The school is located on Barry Road in southern Platte County. The school was found in 1952 with the original building located along 73rd street near Platte Woods. When student enrollment grew, the district built a new building at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Barry Road. This new building opened in 1967 and is now Park Hill High School's current building. The 72nd Street building became Park Hill Junior High. It is now Plaza Middle School, the district's 6th grade school.[1]

The Park Hill campus has undergone a series of remodeling efforts within the last decade to upgrade and replace many of its aging facilities. In the late 1990s a new gymnasium was built on the west side of the building to replace the original gym, which is now used primarily for practices and school dances. Around this same time, an auditorium was also built adjacent to the new gym.[1]

The Park Hill Aquatic Center is located next to the football complex. Along with serving various community needs, it houses the Park Hill and Park Hill South boys' and girl' swim teams, the Park Hill club water polo team, KC Sea Sprites synchronized swim team, and the Northland United club swim team.[1]

Athletics

Since 1998, Park Hill has won five wrestling state championships, two volleyball state championships, and the 2003 football state championship, as well as a cheerleading state championship. The Lady Trojans also won the 2018 girls soccer state championship. It was also featured on an episode of the MTV show, High School Stories.
