Parappanad

Parappanad was a former Hindu feudal city state in Malabar, India.[1] In 1425, the country divided into Northern Parappanad (Beypore kingdom) and Southern Parappanad (Parappur Swarupam). Northern Parappanad (Beypore kingdom or Karippa Kovilakam) included Panniyankara, Beypore and Cheruvannur of Kozhikkode Taluk. Southern Parappanad included parts of Tirur Taluk and the town Parappanangadi. Parappanad Kingdom was a dependent of the Zamorins of Calicut. In the middle of 18th centaury, Royal Family of Parappanad Kingdom found political refuge Travencore due to the invasion of Tipu Sultan of Mysore.
