Pal Zileri is an Italian brand specialized in both formal and casual menswear. Founded in 1980 by Gianfranco Barizza and Aronne Miola. Pal Zileri is part of Forall Confezioni Spa. Pal Zileri born in the Vicenza province and it is now headquartered in Milan.
HISTORY
In 1970, Gianfranco Barizza and Aronne Miola, two Italian businessmen in the textile and clothing industry located in the Vicenza province, founded Forall Confezioni SpA, a company dedicated to traditional menswear tailoring.
In the 80s, the partners decided to create Pal Zileri brand to firm their identity and positioning based on Italian savoir-faire and artisanal knowledge. Pal Zileri evokes the name of "Palazzo Zileri" an ancient building in the historic centre of Vicenza. From the 80s to 90s, the company's expansion reached over 70 countries throughout Europe, America and Asia. Pal Zileri worked with some of Italian designer labels to produce and distribute their menswear lines. Turnover for the decade reached 67 million Euros of which 19 million Euros represent foreign business.
In 2014, Mayhoola Group, a Qatar-based private company who also acquired Valentino in July 2012, acquired the majority stake of the company, and later, in 2016 gained the full ownership. Starting from January 2018, Pal Zileri presents its new collections at Milan Fashion Week. It pursues its sartorial craftsmanship combined with a timeless aesthetic. To mark the company's new era, Rocco Iannone was appointed as the new Creative Director of Pal Zileri and LAB Pal Zileri in July 2017.[1]
Further marking this new course, in July 2018 Marco Sanavia was named Chief Executive Officer of Forall Confezioni S.p.A, owner of Pal Zileri.
Collections
Each Pal Zileri piece is made in Quinto Vicentino workshops or by the brand's network of selected Italian craftsmen. Pal Zileri line is designed for men and balances between Italian design tradition and innovation in terms of cut, design and materials. The collection is composed of urban menswear, eveningwear and sportswear: suits, jackets, raincoats, overcoats, bomber jackets, pea jackets, slim fit pants, jacquard or printed shirts, leather clothing and goods (bags, backpacks, belts, etc.) and shoes. Accessories like scarves are designed to match with their texture and colour.
Made to measure is a tailor-made service that mixes the handcraft tradition and advanced technology.
Distribution
The main direct stores are in Milan, London, Venice, Moscow, Seoul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Mexico City, Lima, Bogota. There are also 500 multibrand stores.
