Pacheco is a noble lineage of Portuguese origin. A Roman general called Vivio Pacieco, sent by Julius Caesar to fight in the Iberian peninsula, is one of the first persons recorded with this surname[1], which could translate to "little one". The surname also has a jewish variant traced to Morocco.[2]
