Ormiston Football Club are a senior football club based in Ormiston, near Tranent, currently playing in the East of Scotland Football League.
Founded in 1999, the club was once an amalgamation of Pencaitland and Ormiston Primrose. For a couple of years the club used the name Pencaitland & Ormiston but decided to shorten it to just Ormiston F.C. Ormiston play their home matches at the Hibernian Training Centre in Ormiston.
Pencaitland currently have an amateur team called Pencaitland Amateur Football Club currently play in the Lothian and Edinburgh Amateur Football Association (LEAFA) ‘Champtionship’ Division’, after being crowned 2017/18 champions of the LEAFA East Division. They are managed by Craig Purves, match secretary Ramsay Zenati and run by Jamie McCormack of the Winton Arms in Pencaitland.
Pencaitland are one of East Lothian’s most recognisable and well known football clubs, based at the Arthur McLeod Pavilion, Park View, in the historic village of Pencaitland.
The club has a long and distinguished history in East Lothian, reaching the Scottish Amateur Cup Final in 1962 and eventually winning the trophy in May 1984, captained by the legendary Arthur McLeod. The club has won many other cups and titles in both the Borders Amateur leagues and Edinburgh Association leagues and being widely regarded as a well organised, reputable and established football club.
Although the club is ‘amateur’ by name – we pride ourselves in applying professionalism to everything we do.
We aim to provide an excellent community base, great facilities and a welcoming atmosphere to everyone associated with the club – from the committee and management team, players, supporters and visiting teams.
