Ofer Bergman (עופר ברגמן) is a senior lecturer at the Department of Information Science, Bar-Ilan University.[1]
Publications
The book The Science of Managing Our Digital Stuff written by Bergman and Steve Whittaker was published by MIT Press in November 2016.[2] It reports on studies comparing the use of folders to store computer files with various alternatives.
The User-subjective approach suggests design principles that helped creating several novel design schemes.[3] Many of them have been deployed and positively evaluated.[4][5][6]
In a paper co-authored by Bergman and six other researchers, published in Scientific Reports,[7] the neurological bases for personal information retrieval are discussed. The study was mentioned in the Daily Mail,[8] and The Wall Street Journal.[9]
Talks
Bergman took part in a PIM research community by initiating the first researchers meeting in 2004,[10] a discussion group for researchers who participate in various workshops[11][12] and panels.[13]
