Octuple champion
In different sports, a sportsperson who wins eight crowns, titles, medals, belts, or other distinctions is called an octuple champion.
The most recognized octuple champions are professional boxer Manny Pacquiao and swimmer Michael Phelps.
Boxing
In boxing, an Octuple Champion is a boxer who has won major world titles in Eight (8) different weight classes.
Manny Pacquiao is the only boxer to win Twelve (12) major world titles in Eight (8) different weight divisions.[1]
Pacquiao clinched the feat when he defeated Antonio Margarito via a unanimous decision to win the WBC super welterweight title on November 13, 2010 at the Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA.[2]
Nine (9) of his world championships came from the "Big Four" (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO) sanctioning bodies and Three (3) were from The Ring.
He also won the prestigious and coveted lineal championship in Five (5) different weight divisions: flyweight, featherweight, super featherweight, light welterweight, and welterweight.
Pacquiao is also the first boxer in history to win a major world title in Four (4) of the original Eight (8) weight divisions of boxing, also known as the "Glamour Divisions": flyweight, featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight.[3][4][5]
The following are the major world titles won by Pacquiao (arranged chronologically):
