Octavian Armașu (born 29 July 1969 in Chișinău) is a Moldovan politician who currently serves as Minister of Finances of Moldova since January 2016[1], succeeding Anatol Arapu at this post.

Professional experience

Previously, Armașu worked since 1996 in the private economics sector, at a few companies in Moldova.[2]

Marital status

Octavian Armașu is married and has two children.

On 30 September 2016, a Moldovan civic activist, Andrei Donică, spilled a bucket of milk over Octavian Armașu, reproaching him the actions done by the government in case of $1 billion fraud.[3][4] After this incident Donică was detained by the police. According to the law, a criminal case for hooliganism was initiated on Donica's behalf, in case of guilty he may be fined or even up to 3 years in prison.[5]
