Social Responsibility

Only The Brave Foundation is a not for profit organization with the mission to fight social inequality and to contribute to the sustainable development of less advantaged areas and people throughout the world. Most of the foundation’s funds are invested in international projects, playing a significant social, economic and environmental role in the communities and countries the group is present. Without of course forgetting Italy, and in particular the territory where the group OTB is based and where the foundation invests in several programs chosen according to its overall selection criteria. The principle selection criteria of projects to support are indeed innovation, direct social impact and sustainability. So far, the Only The Brave Foundation has invested in over 170 projects, improving the life of more than 180,000 people,[8] and ranging from the sustainable development of a 20,000 inhabitants village in Mali,[9] to a microcredit project to support families and small business affected by the 2012 earthquake in Emilia Romagna, Italy.[10]

Marni, every year holds various special initiatives and installations, as the yearly charity projects for the Christmas season and for Milan's fair 'Salone del Mobile'. For each of these activities, Marni creates limited edition special products, made in Colombia by local artisans and women, who gain independence and freedom through their work.[11]

Since 1994, a special T-shirt bearing the text THERE IS MORE ACTION TO BE DONE TO FIGHT AIDS THAN TO WEAR THIS T-SHIRT BUT IT’S A GOOD START has been present in all Maison Margiela collections. A percentage of the sales of these T-shirts is donated to ‘AIDES’, a French charity dedicated to fighting HIV and looking after patients living with HIV and AIDS.[12]

In 2012 the Venice City Council announced that OTB was the sponsor of the restoration of the Rialto Bridge[13] with a contribution of 5 million euro.[14][15][16][17]

In 2013, Staff International signed a deal with Ifitalia Group BNP Paribas, allowing its suppliers to access credit at favored conditions, thus supporting Italian producers.
