Nurgyul Salimova (Bulgarian: Нургюл Салимова; born 2 June 2003) is a Bulgarian chess player who holds the titles of FIDE Master (FM, 2017) and Woman international maste (wim,2018). She won the Bulgarian Women's Chess Championship in 2017.

Biography

Salimova was born in village of Krepcha (Targovishte Province). She learnt to play chess at the age of five[1]. In 2011, in Albena she won the European Youth Chess Championship for girls under 8[2]. In 2015, in Porto Carras Salimova won the World Youth Chess Championship for girls under 12. In 2015, she also won European Union Youth Chess Championship for girls under 12.[3] The multiple times Bulgarian and European Youth Chess Championship in fast and blitz chess winner for girls in different age groups.

Salimova won the Bulgarian Women's Chess Championship in 2017[4]. In 2018 Salimova has been invited to play in one of the strongest tournaments ever-Tata Steel group C. In 2018 april, Salimova became bulgarian champion in the section G16 and 2 days later, bulgarian blitz champion in boys' section under 16. In May,2018, Nurgyul Salimova has won Bayonne open with performance 2600+ which is enough for GM norm. In July 2018, Salimova has scored her last WIM,first IM and first WGM norm at Pardubice,Czech Republic with performance 2478.Thanks to that, the new rating of Salimova is 2352 and she is #2 in world rankings under 16 girls, #2 among bulgarian women and #11 in world under 20 girls. In September Nurgyul Salimova has took a part of Serbian women league with the team of ‘’Banovci Dunav’’. Salimova is at second board where she scores 8/10 (without loss) with performance of 2400+. This is her second WGM norm. The team has failed and in the standings it is at the last place.
