Novartis Medal and Prize

The Novartis Medal and Prize, instituted in 1964, is awarded annually by the Biochemical Society in recognition of research in any branch of biochemistry that was undertaken in the UK or Republic of Ireland. The prize consists of the Novartis medal and £3000. The winner is invited to present a lecture at a Society conference, and submit an article to one of the Society's publications.[1]

Notable recipients include the Nobel laureates John E. Walker, Paul Nurse, Sydney Brenner, César Milstein, Peter D. Mitchell, Rodney Porter, and John Cornforth.
