Nostalgia 1907 (ノスタルジア1907) is a 1991 adventure game by Sur de Wave. The story is set in 1907.

Story

During this time known as either the Edwardian era or the "Age of Men," the player must explore the exotic locales of that era (including the North Atlantic Ocean) and follow along with the story. Drinking alcoholic beverages is considered to be part of the cut scene (as two men are drinking wine).

Development

The game was directed by Kouichi Yotsui, who had previously worked on Strider.[2][3] Yotsui says that he was allowed to make the kind of game he wanted to, and he made something that was different from the arcade games he had worked on before.[4] Artist Utata Kiyoshi also worked on the game.[5]

Release

It was released for the Sega Mega-CD on December 20, 1991.[3]

It was released for the home computer systems Sharp X68000, NEC PC-9801, and FM Towns.

The game did poorly, and financially harmed developer Takeru (Sur de Wave).[2] The financial situation of the company became unstable, and because Yotsui was partially to blame for this, he left the company soon afterwards and joined Mitchell Corporation.[4]

Reception

Famitsu gave the Sega Mega-CD version a score of 25 out of 40.[6]
